Honoring Community Leadership in Foreclosure Prevention
In January 2005, Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards honored Dr. Joseph M. Ripley, Sr. and The Body of Christ Church International for their significant contribution to Fulton County’s foreclosure education campaign. Recognizing the church’s pivotal role in supporting home preservation efforts, Edwards presented a proclamation to Dr. Ripley during the first educational session of the “Stop Before You Borrow — Every Second Counts” initiative. This campaign, championed by Edwards, was crucial in addressing the high rates of residential foreclosures in Fulton County. By facilitating educational sessions and community engagement, Edwards’ leadership showcased his unwavering commitment to preventing foreclosures and promoting financial stability among homeowners and homebuyers.
