Engaging the Community through Quarterly Listening Sessions
In 2005, Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards launched a series of quarterly “Listening Sessions” to actively engage with the residents of Southwest and South Fulton. These sessions provided a platform for community members to voice their concerns and suggestions regarding county services. The first session, held on February 24 at the South Fulton Service Center, saw active participation from parents and youth. Edwards’ initiative underscored his commitment to transparency and responsive governance, ensuring that the voices of the community were heard and addressed. Through these sessions, Edwards fostered a stronger connection between county officials and the residents they served, reinforcing his dedication to community-driven leadership.
